"Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy."- Plaque at Disneyland's Entrance Disneyland holds a unique place in the hearts and minds of America unlike other any other amusement or theme park. This world has been open since 1955 and is an unusual combination of the old and new. The park has evolved uniquely because some of the attractions from opening day still run by state-of-the-art rides like the Indiana Jones Adventure. The bulk of the images on these pages are from a postcard set issued by the Walt Disney Company for the 1967 season. They were broken into three areas: Main Street (a look at the attractions running from the entrance to the castle), Attractions (the different viewing and participatory activities available in Disneyland) and Rides (the various flat rides and roller coasters available throughout the park). Enjoy this trip back in time to a park that many say redefined the concepts of entertainment and education in America. "To all who come to this happy place, welcome."
