The Thunderbolt at Coney Island was one of those coasters that was overshadowed by its younger, more famous cousin- the Coney Island Cyclone.  This John Miller classic was just as fun, but its slightly smaller stature and location next to Steeplechase Park meant that it never quite got in the national spotlight.  The coaster opened in 1925 and was designed by famous roller coaster craftsman & draftsman John Miller.  Read more about the Thunderbolt at our page devoted to the coaster or Jim Barrick's great site.
